Credit Shield

Whatever the Citi credit card you choose you are always well protected if you underwrite our optional Credit Shield insurance.

• If you are completely unfit for work: every month, after a period of three months, the Credit Shield will pay 10% of the balance 1 that was due on the date when you first became unfit for work².
• If you become unemployed: every month, after the period of notice, the Credit Shield will pay 10% of the balance1 that was due on the date when you became unemployed²³.
• In the event of your death: none of the family members of the deceased has to pay back the balance due¹. The insurance takes care of everything.

Conditions

• The monthly fee is automatically deducted from the Citi credit card account.
• If due to my professional activities and my personal situation I am insurable for the three coverages: death, disability and unemployment, the monthly fee amounts to 0.75% of the average balance due during the period between two statements.
• If due to my professional activities and my personal situation I am insurable for the two coverages: death and disability, the monthly fee amounts to 0.40% of the average balance due during the period between two statements.
• If due to my professional activities and my personal situation I am insurable for only the death coverage, the monthly fee amounts to 0.14% of the average balance due during the period between two statements.
• Everyone aged between 18 and 60 can take out a Credit Shield. The insurance covers him/her until his/her 65th birthday.
• The Citi credit card can be used normally throughout the whole period when payments are received under the Credit Shield.
• The amount paid out by the Credit Shield never has to be repaid.

² Maximum payment period = 12 months.

³ On becoming unemployed the period covered by redundancy payments (minimum 3 months) is not covered. In the case of collective redundancies the minimum duration is 9 months.
