Takeover of Crédivit Bank (specialising in loans and hire purchase contracts) and Financia Bank (more diversified activities such as insurance, savings and mortgage loans). |

Merger between Crédivit and Financia. |

The merged bank is now called Famibank. |
| 1982 |
Takeover of Banque Copine. |
| 1983 |
Addition of Diners Club Benelux. |

Takeover of Banque Sud Belge (BSB, a regional bank, specialising in deposit and savings accounts). |

Merger of Famibank and Banque Sud Belge. |

The merged bank takes over the Citibank name and logo. |
